This collection of articles is grouped into four parts, dealing first with the most famous myths of the Odyssey (Scylla and Charybdis, Circe, Proteus, Polyphemus...), followed by its poetics and narrative technique. Homer’s influence can be traced from Antiquity, with Lycophron and Palaiphatos, as well as the Mythographus homericus, right down to adaptations in literature and cinema by Dante, Rimbaud, Joyce, Godard and Allen. Part III examines the use of non-greek sources in the Odyssey. Anthropological and comparative investigations into concepts and rites such as the return song or Telemachus’ initiation complete the volume.
