The Livre de Boece de Consolacion, an anonymous verse-prose translation of Boethius's Consolatio Philosophiae, dates from about 1350. It is related to Jean de Meun's prose translation, Li Livres de Confort de Philosophie, whose prologue it borrows, and also to the anonymous verse-prose translation, Boeces: De Consolacion. Explanatory glosses were added later in the fourteenth century. This critical edition of the glossed version takes into account the older, unglossed state of the text. Introduction, rejected readings and variants, notes, appendices, table of proper names and glossary accompany the edition of the text.
